Chika Ikenga, the Chairman of Eunisell Interlinked Plc and a prominent figure in Nigeria’s industrial sector, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Business School at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU).
In a letter signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the University Council, Nkeiruka Mbanasor, Ikenga’s extensive leadership record and his vast contributions to national economic growth were cited as the primary reasons for his appointment.
The appointment, announced on Monday, March 9, 2026, aims to bridge the gap between “town and gown”; between theory and practice within Nigeria’s educational and economic sectors.
As a board member, Ikenga is to provide strategic direction to transform the MOUAU Business School into a global hub for entrepreneurship and policy dialogue.
In his response to the appointment, Mr. Ikenga said the need for modernising professional and business education in Nigeria has become urgent.
“There is an urgent need to strengthen advanced learning and leadership development in our academic institutions so they can better equip future generations with the skills needed to drive economic growth,” he said.
Ikenga’s background is uniquely multifaceted, spanning several critical sectors of the Nigerian economy. With a degree in Chemistry from University of Nigeria Nsukka, he worked in the area of chemical and industrial sales before founding the Eunisell Group, now one of Africa’s largest independent chemical outfits.
