Cricket, that beguiling, enchanting and aristocratic game is still very much alive at Government Secondary School Owerri. This very British Summer game with its nuances, peculiarities and oddities, still weaves an intricate web of followership among Ogssians (both old and young).
Cricket is as old as our school and has held its own against the ravages of time to not only survive but thrive. It is inconceivable how cricket has managed to thrive in such an inhospitable environment.
It then was no wonder when champion cricketer Olisa Egwuatu led a move to revive the game and introduce Cricket as part and parcel of the Annual Reunion, starting with the 2020 events.
It was a double-header that began with a coaching clinic on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 at our picturesque Cricket Oval.
